Coaching Services

Why Coaching?
We are creatures of habit; our brain is masterful at automating everything for efficiency and ease. Change is hard, but there are ways to make it easier. Trained as a Professional Health & Wellbeing Coach, Joanne understands what people need in order to make sustainable mindset and behaviour change. Coaching focuses on meeting you where you are now - you current behaviours and circumstances - and helping you get to where you want to be. Proactively modifying patterns and creating new ways of doing things is difficult to do on your own. The support of a skilled coach may be just what you need to turn the corner.  If you are interested, contact Joanne here.

Acknowledging that you’re not where you want to be is the first step.
It’s easy to lose touch with what we really want in life, and we often end up going through the motions. But this can leave you feeling dissatisfied, and that life is less meaningful than you would like it to be. Through coaching, you can focus on the specific aspects of life that are not serving you as well as you’d wish, and set goals so that you can live the life you want.

You don’t have to grow alone.
Coaching helps you work on areas that bring more balance, happiness and success into your life. People come to me for different reasons. The role of a coach is to actualise your hopes, make you believe in yourself, and show you that you can overcome the challenges you face.

If you're fed up with doing it on your own, and you're considering reaching out to a coach, it's not a sign of failure, but rather a sign of awareness. You’re aware that you could use the advice and knowledge of someone who could give you guidance. And that’s what I do!

But what if I’m scared of relapsing, or becoming reliant on my Coach?
You have to take the leap and be prepared for the process. I understand that it's a big ask, but it's a common fear that as soon as you stop working with a coach, you'll relapse. That's built on an assumption that you become attached and reliant on the coach. But, I can assure you that it's not that way. I want to ensure that you do not become dependent on me and that you embody the skills and insights to live without relying on anyone else.

During the coaching process, we equip you with the skills, mindsets, and habits that will help you in the long term. And that’s what the process is all about. For example, when a client sets a goal, we always ask "What might get in the way of you following through?" Then, we address the potential obstacles that might get in the way, and we come up with action plans to address each obstacle and barrier.

By practising repeatedly with a coach, you will begin to practice it on your own, long after you’ve completed the coaching process. The guidance becomes ingrained, habitual and integrated into your actions. I’ve never relapsed, and neither will you. The process is a slow one, but if your problems were a quick fix, then they would likely be a quick loss. It takes time and consistent effort to make lasting changes in your life.
